It is best to read the weather forecast before praying for rain.

That Mark Twain again. He knew a thing or two.

So, for several weeks now, I've been praying for rain.

The fields have very little grass (even so, Alfie mysteriously manages to get too fat!) and the farmers are worried about their crops. There'll be another hay crisis like last year, so winter feeding will be problematic not to say outrageously expensive.

My prayers were finally answered yesterday. And today.

Twice now, I've come back from the yard dripping wet.

I'm thinking I got my prayer wrong.

What I MEANT to ask was, could it rain AT NIGHT, please?

Thank you.
